Level 4: S.S. Pigeon [248.8 lbs]

Good days. Various types of progress. The non-filling thought distortion.

General Notes

Incredibly good past few days recently. Stayed focused, kept within my calorie count, walked. Currently around 6k steps/day. Back down below 250 lbs.

Feeling hopeful. I can do this.

Daily Article Notes

Relevant notes from my daily set of Noom articles.
  • I should find ways to measure my progress that AREN'T weight loss, since weight and metabolism can be weird/random. New clothes are a good incentive but that's rare to drop size. I think the feeling of a successful day at the end is almost an intrinsic reward. Just feeling better about myself.
  • Next article discusses thought distortions around healthy food. There are so many!
    • The biggest for me is the idea that healthy food is not filling. It's true that SOMETIMES it's not filling, but often it's just an issue of proportion and scale.
    • . "What's more filling, a giant KFC chicken meal with biscuits and mashed potatoes, or a salad?" And obviously, the chicken meal. But that's comparing something that's literally 2-3x the calories of the salad.
    • A better question: what's more filling at the 600-700 calorie range?
      • 1: A few chicken tenders, a small sauce cup, and a slice of toast.
      • 2: Bowl of brown rice with grilled chicken or steak, guacamole, salsa, and corn.
    • Not even close. #2.
