Level 1: Seamoth [3/18/22 | 250.2 lbs]

Trying again.

I'm trying to lose weight again.

hello it me

I've failed before - many, many times - but I've also succeeded once in a burst 285 lbs to 245. In the months since, I've bounced back and forth between 240 and 250. Currently in the low 250s.

So I'm starting again! Not going to overcomplicate it. I'm using Noom again, starting again from the very first article.

Oh, and one more note: I'll try to share as much as I can feel comfortable sharing here. Recipes, food pics, nature/walk pics, inspiring music, poetry, WHATEVER.

If this is a chore, it won't last. It'll only work if there's joy on the path.

The plan: Keep it simple. Every half pound I drop lets me make one new Subnautica video (or game of my friend's choice). However, I won't be bound by this. Even if I plateau, I'll still make a new vid every few days. It's a sign I'm still active and trying. Even when things aren't going well.

Something funny, by the way. What made me decide to do this? A trailer for a Hearthstone expansion (a digital card game I enjoy):

It's an underwater expansion. Even if you've never played the game, the trailer carries such a sense of magic and wonder and horror, all about the undersea. It's weird. Not only did that give me the itch to go back into the world of Subnautica, but it's not just that. The raw energy of it made me WANT to be active again.

Weird, right? But not something I can afford to ignore.

Daily Article Notes

Relevant notes from my daily set of Noom articles.

  • Self-efficacy is apparently key. Have to believe this will work. I agree there.
  • Take a holistic view. Sleep, stress, exercise, food, nutritional balance... everything matters.
  • This can be overwhelming, as I think about it. Lasting change will require such GINORMOUS change. So take it slow, find joy in it.
